POWELKA POINTS.

The wits of Pahxerston. North during the ' Week were very busy with suggestions, and one genius, a, bit of a musician, has announced that he intends to shortly publish a "Powelka Mazurka." One of the civilian nianrhunters at Palmerston North on Monday last rode on a bicycle through the Square; hysterically flashing a cheap six-shooter. Everything was all right till his bike struck a decent sized store, and then the cyclist came a cropper. Such a sorry spectacle he did appear, too. He looked cheap, and worth about 10£ d. .Nevertheless, he re-mounted, pocketed his "gun" and rode off amid the jeers of a few sensible individuals, who half expected tbe crank's discomfiture.
