Fined Twice m Two Days. A tall, slim, well-dressed woman named Mary^ "Paterson appeared ' at the Dunedin Police r Court on Monday ,to answer a charge .'■*<.£ drunkenness on February 19. She had been previously convicted ot the same offence "on February; 17. Accused . I have a situation to go to if I am given a chance. < Magistrate Bartholomew : Is there /anything special about this case ? She seems to. differ' somewhat from the usual class of drunkards. The Sub-Inspector : iShe lives m Oamaru. She has people m Dunedin, hut they will not have anything to do with her owing to her, r habits. Mr F.-G-.' Gumming said accused had a son 18 years old. The S.M. :- On the. understanding that you go . to this .situation, yon are convicted [ and discharged.
