FULLERS'.
Hassan, probably a relative of the gentleman who was bound hand and foot by his enemies, and was carried to safety m the teeth of his faithful Arab steed, is a dark-skinned, turbaned magician from Calcutta 'or thereabouts, whom Pullers have imported and have had to put up two thousand rupees for with the Customs under the White New Zealand law. He gave a private stage seance m the Theatre Royal to the pressmen of Christchurch last week arid performed miracles under their very noses. The tricks shown are quite unknown to Riekard's late Scotch ChinMe, to Carter, and others, and seem to be supernatural work. Hassan attaches a 561 b block of stone to his eyelids and carries it thus for several yards. The rock is 561 b m weight, because it fell on a pressman.s pet corn, and he mentioned the matter. Hassan emits smoke, fire and brimstone from his mouth for several minutes, and is a sort of human volcano.
