VICTORIA COLLEGE 3 v. WELLINGTON 3.

These teams had a good game at Polo Ground No. 2 r at the\ call of time tho score being 3 all. The Collegians got all over Wellington m the first half, but the latter retaliated by turning the table 3on their opponents m the second. The ground was under water m places, but despite this the game was a good one to watch. While the ball was dry, the College played Well, their backs indulging 1 m gooxi passing rushes, one ot which resulted m Duncan scoring. When, however, the earth got ploughed up and the ball heavy, the superior weight of the Yellow and Blacks told its tale, and it was all College could do to keep them from scoring more than one try. This score was obtained by Treahy from a scramble near the V.Oj line. Green backs played pluckily, and went down to Wellington's forward rushes m fine style, the latter being far from gen-t tie m their methods. . Sellars was the only Wellington back who played anything iiKe a decent ganxsj

He saved his side time after time. Durie made some good runs, but found Dunvan too. fast for him. Malfroy was only ■fair. MacKellar was out by himself m the Yellow . forwards, breaking through from the line time after time. Gray was also good. Wilson devoted most of his time to talking at the referee and everyone else. Paul, a promoted junior, mostly played the opposing men rather than the ball. One of these days he will meet a team more pugnacious than Victoria College, and there will be very little of Paul left at the finish. College pack played splendidly against a much heavier combination. Robertson and Brosnahan were the best, the ior•roer being especially valuable. Lyon, on the wing, headed many a rush and is a promising boy. The backs all played well, their handling of the ball m the first spell and 'their rush-stopping m the second being first-class. Duncan is much improved, and may yet turn out one of the best.
