THE COMMERCIAL.
A Modern Model hotel This is undoubtedly the age of palatial residential hotels, and m that category must certainly be placed the Commercial, Lambton Quay, Wellington, the licensee of which is Mr G. E. O. Pinnock, whose name is a guarantee that everything provided is eqjual to anything m New Zealand, or out of it. The Commercial, which has been rebuilt,, having beeu demolished by fire a few years back, is now one of the most assuming edifices of Wellington. Bui^t on up-to-date Continental lines, with every appliance and safeguard against lire that human ingenuity can contrive, the Commercial is easily, being the (latest erected, foremost as Wellington's safest residence. It has one hundred rooms, all being newly lucnisned throughout, m fact no expense has been spared and not the slightest neglect has been shown to the smallest detail, as Mr Pinnock's main object has always been to ensure the comfort of. his guests, and it only requires a casual roam through the spacious, well- ventilated; bed, sitting and dining rooms to realise how assiduous and successful the licensee has been m his efforts. It is not for a bar trade alone that Mr Pinnock is catering, though from this assertion it must not he imagined that the best brands "of liquor are not stocked, and guests and the public generally can. count on always getting what they ask— and pay for. As stated, no expense has been spared to make the Commercial the equal of any London and* Continental hotel. Its central position is such that it is within a minute's walk of the Post Office and wharves, while the trams pass its vestibule entrance. Mr Pinnock has been at some pains to' specially import a first-class chef. The dining-foom is capable of seating over 100 guests, and daily luncheon and Table D'Hote is served from 12 to 2, at the reasonable price of Is (id. .Moreover, .a letter-toox has been installed for the convenience of guests and patrons, and taken altogether, the Commercial under Mr Pinnock's capable management, should become m Wellington what the Cecil or Carlton is m London.
