FiLTHY -MOUTH BRUTES.

Magistrate McArthur Makes No Mistake. Cecil Settled for Three Months. Jackson Given a Chance. •vThe genial Dr. McArthuf, Stipendiary Magistrate and public moralist, occupied the -Bench m the Wellington Magistrate's Court on Monday, and at least one member of the obscene slangwidge push is mentally perturbed and bemoaning his fate m having to face the bluff and hearty beak on a charge of being possessed of a dirty moutn. John Cecil looked dismayed Wjhen he entered the dock to find the "rough on obscene language Magistrate" on the Bench, and • WHINED DISMALLY WHEN ASKED TO PLEAD. From evidence adduced by the police, it appeared that John ,Cecil was strolling along Customhouse-quay on Saturday night last and met an acquaintance, whom he hailed m very unparliamentary —not to mention ungentlemanly— language. James Jackson is another sordid slangwidge slinger, and dopibtless would have bern very severely dealt with by the genial Dootor had he not explained that he was a fireman on the Rimutaka, which left for Hold Hingland on Monday—in the afternoon of Jac.Ksbn's appearance. This fact doubtless weighed much with the Doctor, who apparently thought it better that Jackson and his slangwidge should. ,be shipped back to Hingland rather, than allow the ; FOUL, FUMING, FILTHY JIMMY to remain m Gqdsowntountry. Jimmy showed great 'penitence and expressed his
