Alleged Outrage on a Child. > - Another of those abominable cases of fallowed -tampering with an innocent, delencelesß "little' child cam© be/ore the tfun•din" Court the other day. James Simpson' was'bharged with, having, on November 17, indecently assaulted a girl • aged lour years. ' Accused, who pleaded not guilty, was remanded for a week on the application, of Sub-Inspector Norwood, the child' being down with measles. If the facts are as alleged by the prosefcCition, it is a particularly revolting case. Accused, it is stated, walked into the house of the girl's parents, and saw the , little, one lying on the sofa, covered .with' rugs'. , SHE WAS SUFFERING FROM .MEASLES, and it is alfieged that acqused indecently mauled the -little, girl, but was interrupted by * two wonien, who happened to look through the window. The accused, according to the evidence to be adduced, was severely mauled the same night by the father of the. child. .. The enraged parent, after hearing the story, went m. search of accused, found him, and gave him the mother and father oi a belting.
