Another Case.

In Christchuroh S;M. Court on Tuesday, a youth of fifteen named Ernest Joseph Ditfprd was charged witih; attempted carnal knowledge, at Linwood, with a girl of eight years, on September 30. Ditford is a stout youth with dropsical tendencies, and loqus older than his years. Being a juvenile court everybody was ordered out, but Ditford's father insisted upon remaining, and his presence wasn't objected to. by the police. / The child's mother accompanied her offspring, a frail youngster with dark ringlets, who was merely able to affix.; her jnark to the depositions. Justices Egan, BalHuger, and Barrett . were on the Bench, and; Solicitor Hunt appeared for* the boy, who seemed quite composed m. the dock. The corro'ooration rested upon the doctor's evidence, combined with other minor testimony. . After the child's evidence had been taken, Ditford was committed for trial. •
