This intensely circumspect .family journal has often been accused of dealing ■with various subjects m a brutally frank manner, publication of the truth necessitating an ungloved fist, and the first to deplore the circumstance is the pious boodle-owned daily journal. Christchurch "Press" is a typical sample of the morning sausage-wrapper that holds ■ up its hands m horror at the unpleasantness of truth when printed boldly m "John Norton's."
