THEATRE ROYAL.
1 World Wide Pictures.
Biograph booms at the Theatre Koyal /where Ben Fuller smiles amiably oil all and sundry as they- pass . the portals of ■the theatre, and so attractive have the pictures been during the week 'that, despite counter attractions^' Ben has: found great difficulty m getting ttie people m and many" have m consequence remained outside. The first -series shown, that of "Sunny Madeira" is a splendid piece of worjc, and clearly depicts the many and varied scenes of the famous West African winter resort,, which is so largely patronised by wealthy Europeans. "A Free Pardon" is a particularly thrilling picture drama, and the audience showed appreciation pf the theme by loudly applauding at the conclusion of the series. "The Ayah's Kevenge," depicting life m •India, gives stay-at-home folk some v idea of life m King Ned's Eastern Empire, Whilst "The Broken Vow", is a' pathetic story, ably told by the Biograph. "Still Worthy of the Name" is another of those heart-stirring dramas, so beloved by the Anglo-Saxon race, showing iiovf the son of wealthy pai enU is ' turned adrift, and after .being prevented from taking bis own life, earns distinction m the army whilst serving " "Jn the ranks" at the seat of w,ar. The comedy element was well catered for, and the audience was kept m continuous roars of laughter whilst "Weary Willie Steals a Fish," "Jack m the Letter 'Box, "and "Uncle's Rejected Present" were thrown on the screen. Charles Parnell ably presides -at the piano, and renders some very effective musical items, pKi.ticiil^rly apprbprinte to the subject of Ibs picturr, ami which are mainly his own compositions. Sam Pearson operated the Biograph and there is ne'er a wait. A new series, which promise to eclipse those of last week, will be exhibited to-night.
