DEELEY DONE.
A Doubtful Decision. It came as a great surprise to the sporting public throughout the Dominion to find that the well-known Auckland light-weight horseman, B. Deeley, had been deprived of his license by the Auckland Racing Club. At the time of writing it is not known as to why the license was cancelled as no explanation has been offered Deeley, but it is rumored that it had something to' do witfi the recent Whangarei meeting. As far a« can be ascertained +he witnesses against Deeley were taken from the general public arid not from the parties concerned, and we all know how; i.he average racecourse frequenter .growls when he has lost a dollar and blames the hqrsemahl ' ■ It is understood that Deeley is applying for a re-hearing, and I sincerely trust' that the same will be accorded him, r.ndj also that, he will be able to clear him-' self. In favor of Deeley, it may be men-, tioned that never on a previous occasion has / fie been up before the stewards and! also he has always borne the name of be-, ing straight: He is at the head of the' list of winning jockeys for the season and out of a total of 130 mounts he has landed nearly fifty per cent, of them asj winners, besides running second and third' on divers occasions! I hope all -these facts will weigh with the A.R.C. Committee 1 •#nd that Deeley will l)e ' so'6n m the^ pigskin again. : ■ '■•' / ] --'-i
