WRESTLING.

Harry "Sandow in this issue signifies his^ acceptance, of Clarence Stevens' challenge to wrestle. Sandow, however, prefers three styles of wrestling, viz., Catchas catch-can, G-raeco-Roman and the Cumberland. Sandow, however, is very willing; to meet Stevens on any terms, and ii the latter is agreeable, the arrangements can be made at "Truth" office.. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Having seen on many occasions that Constable Stevens signs" and announces himself as Constable Skinner's pupil, I consider it would he very much more manly and sportsmanlike if both he and Skinner were to give credit to whom credit is due, viz., Harry , Pearcc, who taught Stevens in Auckland long before he (Stevens) joined the Police Force. This is only written in a spirit of fair play. Moreover, Stevens challenges any heavy-weight in the Dominion, but gives a preference to Sandow. Why '.' Sandow is far from being New Zealand's champion, and there are - plenty of .others nearer the top of the tree— Bob Scott, Frank Ford, Dick Carsbll, Arthur Skinner, and not forgetting Harry Pearcc, who has won the championship of Australasia against all-comers for. the past twenty years. In selecting Sandow, Stevens is perhaps showing discretion. If he is really after the heavy-weights he will have little difficulty in being suited.— l am, etc., SPORT. Auckland, May 7, 1908. -»
