All who are m search of a good afternoon's sport should make a point of attending the New Zealand Am?teur Athletic Association's ninteen<h championship meeting at the Basin Reserve this afternoon. . All the racing, as at all meetings of this class, is sure to be very keen, but the titbits of the afterjioon will probably, be those event's— the 220 yds, 440 yds, and 880 yds championships— m whfqh the brilliant youiig Southland runner; W. F. Trembath, will measure strides With the best of the local- talent. Trembath's record this season is a phenomenal one, and it is interesting to note that 'he has never yet been defeated in' a half-mile race. Last Sat* urday at the Civil Service meeting at Dunedin he won the 100 yds CharopionsMp of Otago m 10 2-ssec ; the 880vds handicap from scratch In 2min : and the. 4loyds handicap from scratch m 52sec.— performances that speak for themselves. Wellington's fine contingent of- sprinters are m themselves a fine attraction', and th» siffht of McKay m the pole vault will alone bo worth a visit to th« Basin Reserve. Ag-ain, H. E. Kenexpects to be m. great form m the walk. Amongst the best of the visitors may be mentioned L. L. Orbell (high jump champion), H. St. A. Murray (44.0 yds hurdles champion), and S. W. Moore, the Canterbury long-distance runner.
