" TRUTH'S " PILLORY.

— — — — -» A POSTURING PREMIER. What a posturing, "kidding," but clever politician is Joe Ward. He has New Zealand by the leg. He "kids" to everybody and is true to himself only. His last outbreak Was at the Town Hall last Monday night, when that capitalistic crowd, calling itself the Liberal and Labor Federation entertained Joseph Surface, and Joseph, m his turn, turned on the pump of his flowery eloquence to tell the so-called Lib-Labs what a progressive institution it is, what a powerful factor m New Zealand politics it has proved itself, and how deeply indebted was the Government of ISfew Zealand to it for past support, and hoping, as the tradesmen say, by strict attention to every detail, to merit support and patronage m the future. Joe Ward's troubles about the Liberal and Labor Federation. What is it?- Who is it comprised of ? Who are the potent factors of this Lib-Lab Federation that can make and unmake our political bosses ? Who is Edwin Arnold and George Winder ? Who do they represent ? What influence does a cane chair mender and an ironmonger weild m the hurly-burly of New Zealand politics ? What the devil does this precious and perhaps well-mean-ing pair of political nhilanthropists know of the true inwardness of New Zealand's aims and ideals. Then there is that 'bright specimen, that representative of v vested interests, Harold Beauchamp. Truly to the Lib-Lab Federation he owes a lot. It has ' been worked well for his advantage. He is the worst enemy to Labor and progress that there is m Wellington at any rate, and the kind of political scab he is can always be demonstrated by Lis actions and reported utterances on the Harbor Board. Beauchamp the blunderer is a tvne of; the bloated big-bug capitalist conservative that Premier Joe Ward bows down to and publicly thanks for past support. If the truth has to be told, this bastard conglomeration of conservative capitalists 1 and loose-legged Liberals is no potent power at all m the political world as it at present stands. Liberal Labor Federation! This is just the sort of crowd that seeks to guillotine labor, on every conceivable occasion. It represents the interests of Fat, and wishes to use Labor as a calsnaw. It is a corrupt, selfreeking body at the best, that cannot play the game fair. Labor, organised Labor, ought to by now recognise that the fat Liberal Party at present m power will sacrifice it at the earliest opporlunitv, and Labor, organised Labor, ought to neir-oivc that at the next General Election it i.s iioccssarv that Joe Word and his fat and trait-

oroius gang should receive the knock of its life. Where is Labor m the present Parliament ? Can a plutocratic person like the Prime Minister be reckoned Labor's friend and ally ? No. This infamous kow-towing to such a body as the miscalled LibLab Federation on the part of the Premier ought to make Labor reflect. There is no Lib-Lab Federation now. The Liberals dished Labor badly m days gone by and Labor should knife the Liberals with great enthusiasm.
