THE MANAWATU CUP.

Weights Reviewed. The M.R.C. handicapper, , Mr J..E. Henrys has made public his adjustments for the Manawatu Cup and also for the races on the opening day which is next Saturday. . , Maniopoto, 9.5, showed, by his win at Feilding, that he is coming back to form. He has eight pounds more to carry than when he won the St. Andrew's Handicap/ Marguerite, 8.13, is not to be sent up as her owner is dissatisfied •with her weight. Elevation, 8.12, has a stone more than weight-for-age; but it must be allowed that he has earned]- every ounce of it, and to my miind he Is well treated. I fully expected him to receive 9.0. Zimmerman, 8.12, has yet to demonstrate his abilty to get 1«£ \ miles m good company. Moral, 8.9, is a good horse and well enough treated. His party did well to ride 'him out both days at Woodville. - 'Frisco has the same weight as Moral and is dropped two pounds for a beating at Feilding. Gold Crest, 8.7, is not going up, and is being given an easy time of it at Porirua. Sir Tristram, 8.4, generally fails m a' big field, but when right he is a good horse and quite up to this distance. Grand Slam, 8.2, is liberally treated and quite able t6 hold his own with this weight. The Lark, 8.1, may be troubled by the distance. Truce, 8.0, is to my mind the best treated horse m the race. This mare is now a five-year-old ■ and has had a very easy time of it since the Autumn meeting at Riccarton. Reports which reach me state that she is very well and jumping out of her skin. That is the way they should be on the eve of a big race. Bourrasque, 7.10, does not seem to be able to strike form and has not won a race since 'being successful m the Manawatu Cup last year. Chatterer, 7.8, has not got this distance yet, but she has been over l\ miles and has done it well. Tangimoana, 7.7, has done her work well of late and is not unduly burdened m this race. Montigo, 7.7, does not seem to be able' to regain his form of early this year. He ran a good race on the first day at Feilding but failed badly at Woodville. Roseal, 7.2. has company on the same mark m Kurawaka, William and Riflemaid. The latter should be the best of this quartette. Landwern, 7.0, is a stylish-looking horse, but has been off the scene for a long time and I am m the dark as to his condition. Of the light-weighted division The Rand. 6.12, and Saga, 6.9, should each he aisle to get to the end of 1 1-* miles.

j T/yrist is nominated m the jumpi ing events at Bull*..
