THE PRICE OF BREAD.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,— With reference to the advance m the price of bread, I would like to point out to you that a certain baker has supplied me with this necessity much below the recognised weight— for instance,- a -'lit loaf only weighs 3£ib, and a 1 2l& loaf if ft. I would say nothing* of an ounce either way, but I objtPf to be rushed to the extent mentioned. Some people m this city of Chrisfcchurch are not content with a boom m business, but also wish to rob customers to the extent of 12 h ocr ceivt. on .cash purchases. , I think we, as a people, woulfl be m a more comfort>able position if we had the services jbf a strict inspqptor of weight's and measures, and a Gocvnment analyst who would tell us what some of our ,beer is made of.-— I am, etc., | ANALYST.-
