HOW A CITY STOCKBROKER WAS FLEECED.

A well-known City stockbroker was I a victim of the secret panel trick. The confederate who pulled the clothes through the panel whilst the stockbroker was asleep found shares with the face value of £500 m a wallet. Those shares were the cause of considerable surprise a short time later. They were found m the possession of one of "May's" notorious friends when arrested. STOLEN SHARES. When the fact of the discovery of the shares on the woman was mentioned m the police court and the shares named, some particular friends of the stockbroker, who knew he had only recently had the shares himself, opened their eyes considerably, and scandal had a very busy time. "May" added the financing of several new gangs to her blackmailing exploits. She imported the "Sloan" gang of American "crooks." Out of the eight men she brought over six are at present serving terms of imprisonment; and two are yet free m London.

ROBBING A NOBLE LORD. She- was operating with two members ci the gang when a noble lord lost his jewel-case at a London railway station. She "fixed" the young lord on the platform (it was after a fashionable race meeting), and, whilst that young honorable was enjoying her racy jokes her two crooks had seized his jewel-case out of his reserved railway carriage and were getting well away. She financed two of thorn who had a series of successful jewel hauls m Edinburgh and Glasgow some time ago. They posted all the "stuff" on to "M-"-" m London. "MAY'S" FOUR BANKING ACCOUNTS. They were caught by a jeweller who happened to be walking about his premises trying to cure his insomnia when they broke m. One is nov.* serving ten and the other seven years. For the purposes of this financing "May" had four banking accounts, two m England and two abroad.
