THE GENTLE ALIEN !
Ah Foo's Little Lot.
Ten Years' Hard Labor.
Before the Westland Criminal Court, Mr Justice Chapman presiding, which were held at Hokitika fast week, the irentle, loving and trustworthy alien, a Chow too, named Ah Foo, came un for trial, on a charge of committing an abominable, unmentionable offence. So bad was the case that the Court had to be cleared. Anyhow, it was a clear case, and Ah Foo was found guilty, and the Judcre didn't waste much time over the unspeakable yellow fiend. He sentenced him to ten years' hard labor, and remarked that Ah Foo was not a fit person to be at large m any decent community. Ah Foo has gone under for ten long years, and his crime is now on record. It will serve, anyhow, to answer the' argument of the Chow lover that the yellow west is a lawabiding, clean-living individual.
