THE ROYAL PANOPTIKUM.
Situated at 30 Cuba-street Extension, at the rear of the Opera House,' is the Roy^l Panoptikum, and a more novel exhibition has seldom been seer., m Wellington. In. waxworks art excellence prevails, for the figures seem life-like, and throh.bing breasts and moving mouths and eyes is a great improvement on the ordinary waxworks show. A great display is made: and perhaps en* of the best groups of figures is that of "The Last Supper," show in_* Christ and the Apostles seated at a table partaking of a meal. There is a splendid cyclorama of noted historic events, which are changed weekly. In addition, there are a large number of freaks of nature. The price of admission is nominal., and while the Panoptikum stays m Wellington it should be well patronised. A country tour is to be arranged shortly, and country residents will do well to keep this notice as a reminder ;' because the Panoptikum is an exhibition rarely seen m the country.
