. « . '"Attention is drawn to the advertisement of the Avondale Jockey Clvb 1 which appears m this issue. Nominations closed yesterday for the Avondale Cup, Steeplechase, Plumpton, and Plying Handicaps, but Friday next is general entry day and the secretary (Mr I-I. I-layr) will be m attendance 1 at his office till 9 p.m.. to receive all entries and also final payments for tlie Avondale Stakes and Avondale Guineas. The first olassic races of the season will be decided at the meeting, viz., the Avondale Stakes and the Avondale Guineas. The Club are giving away some £2300 m Stakes, and the meeting will be held over three ; days. The secretary calls attention to the rules, ■ which state that no nomination or acceptance' will be received on any pretence whatever after the hour named, or without being accompanied by the necessary arnoupt m cash. The attention of owners is particularly called to this regulation. This Rule will not apply to owners w4\ n have previous arrangements with the Club, ' ■■
