FAIL'S FAILING.
A Nauseous Nuisance That Needs
" Notice."
Whatever else Mr Fail may sue- ( ceed m with regard to his dinery, fishery, mcatery mart m Manches-ter-street he comes up to his rather' discouraging cognomen full whack m one particular. Whether it is the hashery. or the fish department, or the meat shop, all of which he runs, it is impossible to distinguish (or whether it is a conglomeration of the three), certain it is that the smell which emerges from their vicinity and staggers the inoffensive and innocent passer-by is a horribly nauseating nuisance which, if it isn't curbed voluntarily at once, should be jumped on vigorously with number nine feet-cases by the Inspector of Nuisances. No one expects, of course, that any business premises of the nature detailed could be as sweetsmelling as a high-class dairy, but there's something radically wirong with a shop that exudes stink war-^ ranted to TURN A MAN. SICK, let alone a member of the weaker sex. Even on Sundays, when the place is shut and barred against 'invasion, the same old smell of the same old 100 h.p. pervades the street, absolutely disgusting m its intensity. Possibly Fail looks upon the delicate aroma as a kind of cheap advertisement ; it certainly fixes upon the pedestrian's mind the situation of HIS SAUSAGE SALOON very impressively. But as* there is no public demand for advertising of such a nature, it's up to the I. of N. to pull himself together and let Fail know that he must do something to abate that nuisance rightaway. Failing which he, the inspector, "should not fail to summons Fail;, m which case Fail would undoubtedly fail to put up any adequate defence to the charge. But possibly Fail will, aifter reading this entirely gratuitous advt., consider that verbum sat sapienti meets the case, and set to work to do something.
