A LIVELY SCRAP.

:■ »♦ ;, — — Jack Blackmore Shows His Form..

On Thursday night a few sports enjoyed the great 'privilege of seeing .the Sydney welter-weight, Jack Blackmore m action m a four round spar. The man selected to oppose the Rocks hero was Maloney, our middle-weight champion, and as it was prearranged that there should be no knock-out; the .local man was able to make Blackmore extend himseli .so far as science and evasion went. The boxing was most interesting, and the Sydney man's extraordinary skill, foo^ and head work and graceful movements won hjin the wannest enconiums. ■A • handsome "shower" rewarded his exhibition, and it was , well earned. As remarked elsewhere, it is a great pity that Blackmore has not been enabled to give a public exhibition before leaving Wellington. He goes back to Sydney by the Maheno, to-day.
