SWEETLY PRECIOUS!
"Dalgety's Review" is a bigj -fat journal published by the big , fat firm m the interests of the big, fat man. It is full of such ; dainty, humor and graceful, art as reports of cow scales, milk yields, the best way to manure the turnip. tree,, how to sfyoe ihe turkeys and just Where to select land sp as to put the most bdftislv m Dainty ' 6. capacious pouch. Sometimes it ventures into the realms of. -roiriarice, and m last issue was [published a chapter of: a thrilling novel entitled "The Romance of thb Land." The writer, whatever his occupation , must at times dally with the muse, }fpr in' this article, or chapter, dr .chunk of the "Loves of the Mild," ori "The Raptures of Real Estate," he waxes sweetly precious 1 , iand refers to "Ramsey Meadows" Woodcut; .under which were. Written "Cowpet's lines" . "Remote from, -town he ran his godly race ■'■■■■. Nor e'er had changed, nor wished to Change his place." Of course a writer iri a stock and station journal would naturally remember an artist whose name Was Meadows and the front name being v reklly Ramsay, would naturally alSo appeal to. him. It was doubtless the demon comp. wh6 transformed it into "KamSay." Then he formed a cdrahinatioiiviof * ranis' sand, jrifeadows delightful to his sheepish mental palate. ' . • Moreover, he must be a cow-spank-er or he'd never . have so artlessly indicated that Cowper wrote Oliver Goldsmith's "Deserted Village," whence, of course, the tender "trough''-y comes. "Cow-per." What mor© natural than that a hides and butter . recorder should fall to fotget.a poet with a name so suggestive of "cow-pen."
