WONDERFUL CITY.
THE NEW BONDI. . . Says a Sydney exchange : "Now that the bulk of the beautiful glen at Bondi and some of the high land facing the tram line have been added to the beach of Tamarama Bay, the lawns at its rear, and the two rocky headlands which constituted the Bondi Aquarium, Mr William Anderson has a site for his Wonderful City which is not to he surpassed m the vicinity of any . great city , of the ; world, if indeed it ia anywhere equalled. Almost every variety of outdoor sport may be practised .there j from surf bathing and chuting, to 'elephant riding and tobogganing, from rollerskating to dancing. The side shows are many and various. Those who prefer a ouiet time, can sit on the wide I balconies, or m the summer-houses which overlook the ocean, or they may wander along the winding paths, shaded by palm and fir,; -among the ferns, rippling brooks, cascades, and miniature lakes of the glen. By the way the Kind's Theatre seats 800 people, and has a fine dancing floor." This same Bondi Aquarium nas busted a big shindikit before to-day, but it also paid tremendous dividends m the last eighties. - It was the hard times that came then, that put \ it out of action. The late Alf. Wyburd ran it cheaply as a Sunday concert . hall and "club"— i.e., sly grog shop, ior several years after it ceased to be a great holiday report.. 'Tis truly a lovely spot ' and it is to be hoped that Wm. Anderson and his partners succeed i; their spirited enterprise.
