» . Indecency Charge Against Boy of 13. A revolting case occupied the attention of Stipendiary Magistrate Dyer at the Auckland Police Court on Tuesday. A boy named George William Angus, only 13 years of age, Was charged with committing an indecent assault on a tiny K irl . 6 ye ars of age, on December 7. Mr McGregor, who defended, submitted the Theory that his youthful client could not be arraigned on the charge made. The evidence, he said, showed that rape was attempted, but the lesser charge would not lie, and he quoted an Appeal Court decision m favor of the stand he took.' After hearing the evidence S.M. Dyer held that Mr McGregor's contention did not apply to this. case. The accused was commit- i ted for trial at the Supreme Court, I bail being allowed upon the father's | bond.
