Now that the public of Australia is more than, usually racing mad, it is of interest to recount two or three curiosities m connection with the Melbourne Cup. The Gup was first run m 1861, and including that year there have been . 4{> • races : for the historic. event.. It is curious to, note > m the'nr,st place, that only once has the Cup been won twice by the same horse, and that was m. the first two years, when Aroher won..
