SWEET WILLIAMS.
One of the boys of the beautiful bulldog breed breasted the Peter on Tuesday to answer the proud charge of assaulting his mother. This splendid specimen of young manhood is mimed Henry Williams, and he cunningly pleaded m the dock that he .was unable to say whether he was guilty or not guilty because he was drunk at the time- A very manly plea -this, and about what might be expected from a beastly brute who would raise his hand against the one who brought him into the world. The old lady, as usual m such cases, didn't want him punished, bless him, but wanted him to promise to keep away from her hoarding house, whither he was, she said, continual! v coming and kicking up a row. Sweet Williams said he wtnt there to see his brothers and sisters, bi:t it struck most people they would he no losers if they never gazed on their beautiful brother's face again. In the end Williams was convicted and bound over to come up when called upon, and also admonished to give beer a wide berth m future.
