THE SKATING CARNIVAL
They swing to the throb Of the dulcet band Like a flight of birds In a fairyland ; > Where bright lights 'gleam, And soft eyes glance, .< As thofskaters swing ; With blood a-dance. See ! they pirouetto, , ' ■ -■ • With a rolling roar, i They flit 'neath- the flags, \ .O'er the shining floor; t And the skates fly free | As the gay crowd swirls, |' And the lads flash past i With their bright-eyed girls ! With a swish and swing, . 1 To the waltz-time beat § Of the band, they race | Oil the roller's fleet. ; . Ah, at last ! A girl ' .Somersaults the floorIt's just what the boys Have been waiting for ! '
