Another case, the 'details of which were given recently m: ' "Truth," m which George Bidgood, a bricklayer's laborer, was charged on two counts with having attempted to murder Daisy Jackson and with having assaulted Margaret Kathleen Bourke, was heard before Mr Justice Edwards. Bidgood considered himself the jilted lover of Daisy and went to her home one evening armed with a revolver and evidently determined to "do" for her—a determination which was the outcome of seeing Daisy out doing the block with ' another bloke. In his haste he "Tabbed hold of Miss Bourke, who had sufficient presence of mind to knock upwards the hand m which Bidirood was holding the revolver. The jury found Bidgood Not Guilty of ' attempted murder but found him Guilty of the assault, and his Honor gave * Bidgood a year m gaol, with hard labor, to think the matter over.
