PEARCE V. SCOTT.

A BIG CONTEST EXPECTED

TO-NIGHT.

Tickets for the great wrestling contest between Harry Pearce, champion of Australia, . and Bob Scott, champion of New Zealand, are going off freely, and public interest m the event is thoroughly aroused, so. that a large' attendance at His Majesty's Theatre, Courtenay-place, may be safely anticipated . to-night (Saturday), when the first bout of the attendant amateur tournament commences. . ' •

The match will v be qdlite a novelty to the younger generation, fov wrestling has been almost a dead letter m this country for a nuiiiber of years and it is not 'often- ■' m: any country, that two such redoubtable champions as Pearce and Scott come together on the mat. As. it was found by Rickards and, the Pullers' that ladies took at least as keen* art interest m wrestImp- exhibitions as men, special arrangements have been vmade on this occasion to accommodate the fair sex, of whom a large attendance is expected. Prices have been fixed very reasonable, namely 3s, 2s and Is., and it is safe to predict a Titanic struggle when these two splendid athletes come together. A start will be made punctually at 8 o-clock this evening. •
