Weeping copious tears, a wretchedlooking female named Mary Burtenshaw stood m the dock to answer a charge of being an idle and disorderly person and keeping a brothel m Albert-street. Mary wasn't a bit contrary, but asked for another chance, and Mr Kettle remanded heir for a week to see what could be done. , Her appearance suggested that seven days sojourn m a temperance hotel would bt a godsend m itself.
