The attention of sheep farmers is called to Hall and Allan's .Red Drench for ante-partum paralysis m ewes. It is most effective and is m general use m the Canterbury district, and further south. In fact there is scarcely any need to advertise it m the South Island, so well is it known. The sole proprietor of the drench is -Mr E. R. Allpress, manufacturing chemist,' of Elmstreet, Christchurch. The specific can be obtained from Dalgety and Co.'s and all Farmers' Co-operative Associations.
If; is the frequent publication of such pars as the following that causes "Critic" to look on the average parson as a hide-bound hypocrite : -"The Rev. W. J. Elliott, of St. Paul's Methodist Church, has intimated to his stewards that ho is unable to accept an invitation for a fourth year m his present charge. Mr Elliott has teen unanimously and strongly requisitioned by an important church m Christ church, and he has decided to place himself m their hands." In other words he has sold himself to the highest bidder. The call of Mammon has a more metallic ring about it than the voice of God.
