ANDERSON'S SHOWS IN AUCKLAND.
Both Mr William Anderson's companies recently here, struck oil m Auckland His Majesty's, and the most satisfactory accounts of the business done reach Wellington. The pantomime of "Sinbad," which drew so splendidly here, ran no less than twenty nights to tremendous business, such a season having. been unknown m the northern city for many a long day ; the enthusiasm being unbounded and the leading artists becoming popular and social favorites. This great success was followed by the No. 2 Dramatic Company, also recently m Wellington ; which, openlingling m "The, Ladder of Life" played it six nights to packed houses, the papers being unanimous m praise of the playing of Mr Harry Diver and Miss Helene, Burdette m the ' difficult parts of the villian and his victim 01---ga Zobinski, m which they both scored heavily here m Wellington. On Saturday last the Company put up r that most impossible, yet interesting, / melodrama, "The Orphan Heiress," opening to a crowded house, business continuing good throughout the week. Auckland is a good show town, just now, and Mick Joseph's smile, they do say, irradiates the whole block of which the new theatre is a component part.
