Berne Bungs Badly Beaten.
What sort of a revolution would break out among the thirsty beerchewers of Wellington if the licensed victuallers proposed to raise the price of beer. Such a course was proposed m Berne lately and a society was formed to combat the proposal. It is not likely that it will ever be necessary ' to form such a society m Well 1 •ington, but m case it is it may be Just as well to be ready with a name. The Berne society was called the 'yierdeziliterabgabea-giiiationskommis-sioßdieldgiereenversanrmlungspetition.' Such a jiame is warranted to frighten any recalcitrant purge purveyor into subjection m one act.
