Wanted, a beautiful barmaid, . .. \ ■To serve vat a city bar ; ' , A plain-looking girl Would mar trade And prove too slow by far. Her eyes must be hlue as the violet, Or as black as. a jetty sloe, But they mustn't be over modest, But sparkle, and burn, and glow.. Wanted, a beautiful barmaid, To shine m a drinking den. As long as she's the color or shade To allure the 1 city ycftmg men; To brighten Destruction's pawiway, False gleams with dark fate to blend, To stand near Despair's ; dark, gateway ,To hide sin's sad, bitter end. Wanted, a beautiful barmaid, A creature with looks so divine ; To act as a decoy for 'the trade, , '-- And to heighten the charms of wine; Who will draw with swift fascination, .Enchant with her girlish grace,'; And give to the boys of all station )' ;The toast of her sweet, pretty So— wanted, a beautiful barmaid, To serve; m a boozing bar, A girl who's an adept at witching, And can shine like a falling star ; Gifted with beauty .the rarest, To garnish and furnish a den, •And who is the sweetest and fairest To allur the city young men.' , .
