THE DELINQUENT AT LARGE. Police on the Trail. It will be- remembered that m our issue ot June 23 a notice appeared m this paper with reference ,to a big • line that. Messrs Duncan and Mclntosh were doing- with the public of Wellington. Customers were distinctly asked t6 shop ear ly. but unfortunately many of them failed to take the advice and were shut out, so great was the crowd that Fathered on the Saturday.' Just as the rush was at its highest a sneak thief appropriated a valuable travelling rug. and al-though-the police have been communicated with, up to the time of going to press the 1 " have been unable to bring the offender to justice. The proprietors wish us to state that a special staff of assistants has been engaged, and the same tfour lines, viz. mens' pyjama suits, stylish hard hats, mens 1 serviceable sweaters, all at 5s 1%&, and' some nobby silk neck wear at 6d, will be sold as usual to-day, and for the next few days at the Hat and Clothine Arcade, Manners-street, nearly opposite Opera house.
