ARMY MEAT SUPPLIES
WEDDEL’S GET CONTRACT Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 20, 10.35 p.m.) LONDON, January 19. It is understand that Weddel’s have secured an Army contract for their Argentine faotory. Mr Hasaan, the Australian Meat Council’s representative, says that tbit result is not surprising. Tlie success of South American meat is due purely to organisation, militant marketing and the personal tough in negotiation. “This is the gospel which the friends of the Australian producers have been preaching for years,” he said. “Though price difference is apparently the determining faotor, vot previously when tnero was successful Australian tendering the difference was no greater.”
