ENJOYS A “PAUL JONES” The Prinoe of Wales recently paid a vTiit to the carnival danoe of the irorth Lambeth, branch of tho British Legion at the Lambeth Baths S.E. The Prince, who was smoking' a cigar and wearing a dinner-jacket, was given a great reception by tho 600 people present when he entered tho room. When .tile’ band struck up a foxtrot he turned to Mrs P. McEnroy, wife of Captain P. McEnroy, D. 5.0., president of tho branch, and asked for a dance. Later, amid great excitement, it was announced that the Prince had consented to take part in a “Paul Jones.” fn the “Paul Jones” the men, holding hatfds, form a ring round the outside ; and the women form a similar ring in the centre. The rings revolve, and when tho music ceases temporari. jy each man takes the woman facing him as his partner in a new measure. The dance continued for some time, the Prince taking a nugiber of different partners. The Prince stayed for more than two hours, dancing each danoe with ontliufiasm. When the band broke into c Charleston rhythm be asked Miss Lytlio HuckhV* who lives in Kennington road, and is the fiancee of one of Do dance officials, to Jie his partner. Running down the steps from the dais, the Prince began to dance a “flat” Charleston ,down the oehtre of the floor, and tbe other dancers stopped to watch him and. his partner. Afterwards he waltzed with Miss Ada Poole, who lives at Bromley, Kent.
