FIRE-ENGINE HITS POLE,

Per Prqsw Association. AUCKLAND, January 11

The fire-engine of tho Onehunga Brigade collided with a telegraph post when proceeding to a fire to-day. 011 turning a corner the driver swerved to avoid a man on the road, and the engine was carried to the side of the road, where it struck the post. The vehicle was considerably damaged. but none of tho firemen were injured. Tlie gear was transferred to another engine, and there was littlo delay in reaching the fire.
