TRAGEDY OFF MOTUIHI ISLAND YOUNG MAN LOSES LIFE ANOTHER SWIMS TO SAFETY Per T.'ress Association. AUCKLAND, January 9. Two cousins, Thornton Tidd and Harold Tidd, left Devonport in a 14foot sailing boat at about 6 o’clock on Saturday evening. about 8 o’clock the boat was capsizcS off Mqtuibi Island. Thornton Tidd reached the island in safety, but nothing more has been seen of Harold Tidd. A search for the missing man was made to-day by friends in a launch, but as no trace of the boat was found the party returned to Auckland this afternoon. It is probable that the boat has been carried out to sea or washed up somewhere along the coast.
