Domela toured Thuringen as the eldest son of the ex-Crown Prince, and occupied the Royal box at the Gotha Theatro at a special performance .n his honour. Ho accepted boxes of chocolates from actresses, and was entertained at a State banquet. When difficulties arose he disappeared. Ho was equally successful' elsewhere, under other titles, until his exposure set tho police in motion throughout the country, when he enlisted in the Foreign I.egion. He admitted the impostures, and boasted of his successes.
