KING’S THEATRE
“MANTRAP.”
Some of the most famed lieauty spots of the Canadian^backwoods are to he found ns a background for the stirrin'g drama of Paramount’s picture “M'liitran,” which is pnw showing at the King’s Theatre. It is the tale of a summer camping trip taken bv a young New York lawyer, portrayed by Percy Marniont. who is tired of ’“toning to women clients asking for divorces: and a stocking manufacturer. Eugene Pallette. who proves to be nothing but a grand “Babbitt” "t large on a camping trip. Marmont does not get awav from women, love triangles, or martial infolicitv by noing to the Canadian woods. Clara Row, as the flapper-manicurist from Atinnenpnlis whose sudden love whim has_ resulted In her changing her city environment, for that of the Canadian woods, but wlioso instincts arc the same whether in the citv or at, “Mantrap Landing.” clays a role that suits her perfectly Equally as brilliant, is the work of Marmont. while Ernest Torrence, in the role of “.Too Easter.” trader and tranper of the north woods, gives a performance which is splendid both in dramatic strength and in that delightful whimsical humour for which he is famous.
There is a. good supporting programme with delightful music by the King’s Orchestra.
