TO DESTROY EARWIGS

DR. J. T. TILL YARD BRINGING . PARASITES AFTER, SEARCHING EUROPE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON. December 5. Dr J. T. Tillyard, the New Zealand entomologist, has sailed by the Corinthic, taking 250 pqyasites of earwigs intended to destroy earwigs in New Zealand. Parasites are scarce in the present year, and Dr Tillyard had to search for them throughout Europe. They cost a shilling each. Dr Tillyard is also taking several kinds of insects, which, it is hoped, will destroy blackberry brambles. Before- they are liberated thev will be tested to ascertain their effect on other plants.
