YEAR AT Y.M.C.A. ( LIST OF PRIZEWINNERS. The end of the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium year was marked by a breakingup ceremony held on Friday evening. Mr Nimrno, who presided, paid a high tribute to Mr J. A. Duffy, physical director, who, with the aid of his assistants, had extended the operations of the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium classes to Khandallah, Petone, and Gilbirnie. The Mayor (Mr 0. J. B. Norwood) referred to the advantages which the present generation received from modern education, and said that if boys and girls took advantage of tho physical instruction that was offered to them by such institutions as the Y.M.C.A. they would become morally, mentally, and physically strong, and would develop into worthy citizens. Mr Mason also spoke very highlv of the work being done in the “Y” gymnasiums, and of the ideals of the association, which aimed at the making of good citizenship.
