SWIMMING CARNIVAL
RACES AT TE ARO BATHS FANCY DIVING DISPLAY. The Te Aro Baths were the Mecco of all swimming enthusiasts on Saturday afternoon, wnen the Wellington Swimming Centro held a carnival, which was a great success. There were many entries and the handicappers had their work cut out all afternoon. The races were keenly contested, there being some remarkably close finishes. The swimmers were all in good form, especially Rix Trott, who is fast making a narno for himself in the swimming world. Watson, Least and Buxton were also in good form. The ladies* inter-club race and their diving competition were well done and received much applause from the onlookers. N The following are the results s—--50yds First-class Inter-club. A feature of the carnival Tvas the fancy diving exhibition by Mr Hicks and others. Somersaults, swallow, sandpike, Charles Chaplin, splosh and double dives were among the various displays.
