CLEAN-UP PLANNED NEW ROAD TO ORIENTAL BAY. The City Council decided last night to grant authority for a new lay-out of the corporation’s unsightly yards at Clyde quay. A plan which has been prepared provides for a 06ft road through the yard from Oriental Ray to Chaffers street, for the removal of buildings and the clearing of the area fronting Clj'de quay. Councillor H. D. Bennett said the proposal was a general elenn-up of the dilapidated buildings in Clyde quay. The reading would provide a street from Cable street to the entrance to Oriental Bnv. An extensive area of land would be made available, and the whole scheme would he an important fontTihution to the town-planning of the city
