The police have arrested, at various points, between 150 and 200 revolutionaries en route to Spain. The arrests followed the discovery m September that Italian and Spanish plotters were planning to strike a blow, which was to coincide with tho Fascist march in Rome. They had held meetings at the Anarchist Union’s rooms in Paris, under the leadership of Francisco Macia, Jose Corrio and Ramon Muster, three Spaniards. Arms were purchased and motored to the Spanish frontier, where they were stored in the mountains, but the arrests forestalled action by the rebels. One band, at Toulouse received military clothing, equipment, maps, field telephones and a machine gun, and instructions for mountain campaigning. The conspirators were disguised to resemble tourists.
