ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS

ANNUAL EXHIBITION. The Council of the Academy has purchased for its permanent collection the Oil painting entitled “The Blue Ribbon” by Mr E. R. Tripe, which is considered to be the finest example of that artist’s work yet shown. The sales of work at this year’s- exhibition are*already well in advance of those of the past two years, and possibly may constitute a record. To-morrow evening will see the drawing of the public art union and the close of a most successful exhibition.
