CAMELS FOR ZOO
PRESENTATION TO AUCKLAND WYLIE EXPEDITION GIFT. (By Telegraph—Special to “Times.’’) AUCKLAND, September 21. An offer of two camels for the Auckland Zoological Gardens, made by Smith Wylie and Company, Limited, has been accepted by the City Council, and the animals are now en route to New Zealand. The camels were secured by the Wylie expedition on a recent journey to the northwest territory of Australia. The offer includes the delivery of the animals at the Zoo free of all charges to the city. Arrangements were made by members of the expedition for the shipment of the animals to Melbourne where they will be cared for until they can be sent to Auckland. The animals are ot the dromendary species, and they will be accommodated at the Zoo in the house and paddock provided for a giraffe which died some time ago.
