In addressing tbe Budget Commission, Sir Joseph Cook , (Australia) proj teated against the plethora of proposed new money votes, and urged the necessity for closer control, with a view to the stabilisation of tho budget. The inclusion of such votes, he said, wus an invitation to spend. He pointed out that the budget this year had jumped up another £40,000. Mr Hilton Young (Britain) warmly supported Sir Joseph CoolUs protest, and ns the result a supervisory committee has undertaken to consider tightening and systematising the control.
